5.3 Collaboration Diagram

The collaboration diagram also known as, communication diagram, focuses on the

communication between different blocks of the system. A collaboration diagram does not

only show the interaction between different modules of a system but it also shows the

association of these modules with each other. The figure 5.2 depicts a scenario where the user

of the E-Reader initiates a “search inside an open document”. In order to achieve this

operation, the association link between several modules of the system is shown. The

communication has no time line like we have seen in the sequence diagram.
